Publications deriving from doctoral theses

Since their admission to the doctoral program, in all aspects of research related to the completion of the doctoral thesis, doctoral students are fully affiliated with the University of Alcalá. For this reason, doctoral students must include their affiliation to the University of Alcalá in all publications deriving from their doctoral thesis.

The Regulations on the standardization of institutional affiliation in scientific publications of the University of Alcalá, approved by the Governing Council on March 25, 2021, specifies that "All authors linked to the University of Alcalá must always include their institutional affiliation to the University of Alcalá in their scientific publications, even if they are on a stay outside the University of Alcalá at the time of publication". Doctoral students are part of those authors linked to the University of Alcalá. The affiliation to the University of Alcalá must always appear, even if the student is doing research between two different institutions (University of Alcalá/other institution), in which case, his/her affiliation to both parties would appear, in the order that the doctoral student considers appropriate.

In its article 5.5, this regulation states that publications that do not comply with the provisions of the same, will not be counted as a required or valuable merit in the applications submitted to the calls published by the Vice-rectorate with competences in research, among which are the Call for Extraordinary Doctoral Awards.
