In accordance with article 11.7 of the Royal Decree 99/2011, which regulates doctoral studies, monitoring and assessment of the doctoral candidates will be conducted annually by the Academic Committee of the doctoral programme.

To do this, the following procedure shall be used:

1. The PhD student must include all the activities carried out in the DATRES platform so that they can be reviewed by the thesis tutor.
2. The Thesis Tutor may enter to report the training activities at any time until the start of the evaluation period.
3. The Thesis supervisor must also report on the progress and development of the research activity.
4. The Academic Committees, in view of the reports made by the Tutor and Director/s, will carry out the annual assessment.

The Academic Committee will inform the doctoral students the result of the provisional evaluation.

A positive evaluation guarantees continuity in the doctoral programme.

If the event of a properly grounded negative assessment, the causes will be specified in the Academic Commission's communication sent to the PhD student. A period of 5 business days will open, starting from the date of the communication of the results, so that the students can carry out the review and, if applicable, submit the corresponding claim. Once the deadline has passed, the grades will be definitive.

A negative assessment implies that the student must be reassessed in the space of six months.

Should the second consecutive negative assessment be repeated, the student will leave the programme definitively.
